Terry Hirte's Obituary
Terry L. Hirte, age 73, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2020 at 1:55 a.m. in his home.
Terry was born on February 12, 1947 in Belleville, IL, a son to Emery "Bud" and Elsie (Knope) Hirte. A proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, he served during the Vietnam War. On February 28, 1970, he married Betty Williams in Coulterville, IL and she survives. He had worked for Canadian National Railway as a signal maintainer for 38 years. Terry was of the Methodist faith. He served as a first responder on the Missouri Disaster Medical Assistance Team. Terry served as a firefighter on the Coulterville Fire Department and he was paramedic for Coulterville, Pinckneyville and MedStar ambulance services. He loved his time in Florida, scuba diving and especially spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Betty Hirte of Pinckneyville, IL; one son, Brad (Trish) Hirte of Pinckneyville, IL; four grandchildren, Steven and Bryan Hirte of Swanwick, IL and Sydney and Emma Francis of Pinckneyville, IL; and one brother, Neal (Trula) Hirte of Coulterville, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Terry's wishes were to be cremated and no services are being held at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to the Pinckneyville Ambulance Service.
