Sylvester E. Kellerman's Obituary
Sylvester E. Kellerman, age 61, of Apple Valley, CA, formerly of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at 5:00 a.m. in St. Mary Medical Center, Apple Valley, CA. Sylvester was born on April 4, 1950 in DuQuoin, IL, a son to Bert and Dolores (Welsch) Kellerman. After growing up in Pinckneyville, IL, he lived most of his life in California. First in Inglewood, CA where he worked for an insurance company, and later he moved to Los Angeles where he worked for 20th Century Fox for many years. Survivors include his mother, Dolores Kellerman of Pinckneyville, IL; three brothers, Danny (Rose) Kellerman, Steven (Deborah) Kellerman, and Lyle (June Beth) Kellerman, all of Pinckneyville, IL; two sisters, Lisa Woodson of Collinsville, IL and Janelle (Steve) Brauchle of St. Louis, MO; many aunts and uncles, Ed and LaVina Kellerman, Ray and Marlene Kellerman, Louis and Donna Kellerman, Ben and Shirley Welsch, Virginia Bathon, Fran Sinn, Jan Kellerman, Joan Brown and especially his aunt, Alveria Knatt who was his caregiver during his illness; and many dear nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Bert Kellerman; paternal grandparents, Bernard and Virginia Kellerman; maternal grandparents, Sylvester and Cecelia Welsch; a niece, Amanda Christine Brauchle; a great-nephew, Chase Lyle Foznock; four uncles, Muriel Kellerman, Paul Bathon, Lee Meier and George Knatt; and an aunt, Bernice Kellerman. Sylvester's wishes were to be cremated and a memorial service will be held at St. Bruno Catholic Church on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Brian Barker officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery, Todds Mill, IL. Friends may call at St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to Masses or to the family for their favorite charities.
