Sue Lamczik's Obituary
Sue Lamczik, age 68, of DuQuoin, IL, passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at 11:34 p.m. in Marshall Browning Hospital Emergency Room, DuQuoin, IL. Sue was born on October 15, 1943 in DuQuoin, IL, a daughter to Harry and Virginia (Wickline) Huite. On May 23, 1961, she married LeRoy Lamczik in Sacred Heart Church, DuQuoin, IL and he survives. She was a homemaker and along with her husband was the owner/operator of Lamczik's Processing and Storage for over 50 years. She was a proud Democrat who served as a long-time precinct committeeman and was actively involved in the Perry County Democratic Party. Sue also served on the DuQuoin Zoning Commission and DuQuoin Park Board and was actively involved in the formation of the West Side Park and the Skate Park in DuQuoin, IL. She was an avid quilter and belonged to many local quilting clubs, enjoyed cooking and baking, and dearly loved her kids and grandkids. Survivors include her husband of over 50 years, LeRoy Lamczik of DuQuoin, IL; four children, Robin (James) Jarvis of DuQuoin, IL, Patrick Lamczik of DuQuoin, IL, Rebecca Lamczik (Mitch Harsy) of Vergennes, IL and Dennis Lamczik of Washington D.C.; four brothers, Harry Huite of DuQuoin, IL, Robert Huite of Aurora, IL, Edgar Huite of Alabama, and Jeffrey Huite of Ashland, WI; four grandchildren, Callie Lamczik, Ryan Farthing, Ethan Harsy and Evan Harsy; a great-grandson, Cayden Lamczik; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by a special grandmother, Willie Kilpatrick; and her parents. Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, DuQuoin, IL on Monday, May 14, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. with Kurt Harris officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, DuQuoin, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, DuQuoin, IL on Sunday, May 13, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Monday morning from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to The Therapy Center, 1703 Poteete Ave, Carterville, IL 62918.
