Steven "Steve" Charles Ginn's Obituary
Steven “Steve” Charles Ginn, age 67, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Friday, June 27, 2025 at 5:33 p.m., at his home.
Steve was born on April 16, 1958 in Pinckneyville, IL, a son to Charles “Chuck” and Marjorie “Marge” (Cowley) Ginn.
He worked at Burning Star #2 coal mines for ten years. Steve then held a position at SIU Carbondale in the ID office until retirement. Steve was an avid coin collector and proficient in many computer programs. He loved watching sports, especially the St. Louis Cardinals and Pinckneyville Panthers. Steve was very fond of animals having numerous pets through the years.
His greatest love was his family. He was a dedicated brother to Dennis and loving uncle to his three nieces, one great-niece and one great-nephew. He enjoyed car rides, sightseeing, and spending time with his family, especially when he could join in on cards, dominos, and cornhole.
Survivors include his brother, Dennis (Amy) Ginn of Pinckneyville, IL; three nieces, Kristen (Eric) Tabing, Sydney (Travis) Thoeming; and Kelsey (Christopher) Priebe, all of Pinckneyville, IL; one great-niece Rylee Tabing; and one great-nephew, Bailey Priebe.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one niece, Audrey Ginn.
Funeral services will be held at Holts Prairie Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL, on Monday, June 30, 2025 at 11:00 a.m., with Brother Collin Hirsch officiating. Interment will be at Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, Illinois.
Visitation will be held at Holts Prairie Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
Memorial contributions can be made to Holts Prairie Baptist Church or the Perry County Humane Society.
