Stephen Logan's Obituary
Stephen Logan, age 74, of DuQuoin, IL, passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at 12:48 p.m. in his home surrounded by his family. Stephen was born on November 26, 1942 in DuQuoin, IL, a son to Oran B. and Flossie M. (House) Logan. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy having served during the Cuban Missile Crises and Vietnam War. On January 2, 1962, he married Caroline Danbury in Nashville, IL and she survives. Stephen retired after forty years in quality assurance at Phelps- Dodge /General Cable, DuQuoin, IL. He was a member of Sunfield United Methodist Church, the DuQuoin American Legion for forty-six years and a lifetime member of "Hog" Harley Owner Group. During his life he enjoyed riding motorcycles especially Harley Davidson. He is survived by his wife, Caroline Logan of DuQuoin, IL; three children, Brett (Mary Kay) Logan of DuQuoin, IL, Selena (Danny) McElvain of Pinckneyville, IL and Darren Logan of DuQuoin, IL; two brothers, John "Stanley" (Sue) Logan of DuQuoin, IL and Marion L. (Pam) Logan of Pinckneyville, IL; one sister, Beth Ann (Steve) Lazenby of Pinckneyville, IL; one grandson, Camlin Logan of DuQuoin, IL; three step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, DuQuoin, IL on Monday, July 17, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Erin Totten officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, DuQuoin, IL with military graveside rites by DuQuoin V.F.W. and American Legion. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, DuQuoin, IL on Sunday, July 16, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Monday, July 17, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois. Pyatt Funeral Home, DuQuoin, IL is in charge of arrangements.
