Sonia R. Loos' Obituary
Sonia R. Loos, age 76, of Cutler, IL, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2018 in Pinckneyville Community Hospital, Pinckneyville, IL.
Sonia was born on December 19, 1941 in Perry County, IL, a daughter to Cecil and Doris (McCormick) Stern. On July 25, 1964, she married Clarence J. Loos in St. Mary Magdalen Church, Todds Mill, IL and he survives. Sonia was a domestic engineer and a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, IL. She was active in Catholic Daughters, enjoyed embroidery, quilting, pinochle, cooking at K.C. Hall, bingo, puzzles, was an avid Cardinals fan. Sonia loved being a grandma and took great pride in her grandchildren and was devoted to praying the rosary every night.
Survivors include her husband, Clarence J. Loos of Cutler, IL; seven sons, David Loos of Cutler, IL, Daniel (Karen) Loos of Pinckneyville, IL, Timothy (Tanya) Loos of New Athens, IL, Jeffery (Tracy) Loos of Cutler, IL, Peter (Tracy) Loos of Cutler, IL, Jonathan (Elaine) Loos of Pinckneyville, IL and James (Amanda) Loos of Pinckneyville, IL; two daughters, Bernadine (Jeff) Suchomski of Todds Mill, IL and Jeanine Loos of Cutler, IL; two brothers, Chuck (Janet) Stern of Nashville, IL and Steve (Paula) Stern of Mt. Vernon, IL; two sisters, Patricia (James) Baudison of Pinckneyville, IL and Tena (Mark) Smith of Centralia, IL; fifteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Kevin Loos; and one sister, Lois Stern.
Funeral services will be held at St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Bernard Goedde and Father Augustine Ibezimako officiating. Interment will be in St. Bruno Catholic Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL.
Friends may call at St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Rosary will be on Thursday at 9:00 a.m. at the church.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Bruno Catholic Church, St. Bruno Catholic School or Masses.
