Sis Edwards' Obituary
Dorris M. "Sis" Edwards, age 76, of Swanwick, IL, passed away on Friday, August 17, 2012 in De Peres Hospital, St. Louis, MO. Sis was born on July 13, 1936 in Perry County, IL, a daughter to Carl B. and Carrie A. (Benedict) Harrison. On April 17, 1953, she married Vernon W. Edwards in Corinth, MS and he preceded her in death on October 26, 2004. Sis was a member if Winkle Baptist Church, Winkle, IL, Women's Pinochle Club and Perry County Democrats. Sis is survived by two children, Diana (Jon) Huggins of Swanwick, IL and Randy (Robin) Edwards of Pinckneyville, IL; two brothers, Carl Richard Harrison (friend, Marilyn) of Pinckneyville, IL and Nelson William (Judy) Harrison of Kentucky; two sisters, Donna (Don) Kuhnert of Pinckneyville, IL and Neva (Ed) Mossa of Ohio six grandchildren, Michael (Paula) Thomas, Timothy (Angel) Thomas and Rebecca Thomas, Brittany (James) Weston, and Brooke, and Brandon Edwards; three great grandchildren, Michaela Mae Thomas, Joey Thomas and Bryson Thomas; and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and daughter, Billie Ann Thomas. Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Monday, August 20, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend David Guthrie officiating. Interment will be in Bethel Cemetery, Swanwick, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home on Sunday, 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Monday, 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to Perry County Relay for Life.
