Shirley M. Eaton's Obituary
Shirley M. Eaton, age 76, of Du Quoin, IL, passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 12:00 p.m., in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, Carbondale, IL. Shirley was born on July 1, 1939 in Carbondale, IL, a daughter to James Nathan and Ella Nora (Elkins) Ragsdale. On November 21, 1954, she married James Eddie Eaton at Desoto Methodist Church in Desoto, IL and he survives. She was a homemaker and of the Methodist faith. She loved reading, painting, gardening, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, James Eddie Eaton of Du Quoin, IL; five sons, James David (Lisa) Eaton of Du Quoin, IL; Donald L. (Lynn) Eaton of Du Quoin, IL; Robert D. (Diane) Eaton of Du Quoin, IL; Michael Dale (Melody) of Du Quoin, IL; Daniel Wade (Kesha) Eaton of Du Quoin, IL; one brother, James Calvin Ragsdale of Murphysboro, IL; one sister, Jeanette (Jimmy) Hankla of Pinckneyville, IL; thirteen grandchildren, Angela Kling, Jamie Keller, Michael Eaton, Bryant Eaton, Britni Eaton, Micole Eaton, Mark Eaton, Ashlie Eaton, Trevor Eaton, Michelle Eaton, Trinton Eaton, Justn Eaton and Kirstn Eaton, and many beloved great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Matthew Nathan Eaton; and one sister, Brenda Lane. Memorial services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Du Quoin, IL on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 10:00 a.m., with Brother Rob Mathis officiating. Shirley's wishes were to be cremated. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Du Quoin, IL on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Shriners Hospitals for Children.
