Shirley Ann (DeWitt) Conder's Obituary
Shirley Ann (DeWitt) Conder, age 78, of Tamaroa, IL went home to be with her Savior Jesus Christ that she loved since she was three years of age on Friday, May 26, 2017 at 8:30 a.m. in her home. Shirley was born on December 18, 1938 on Hortance Street in the upstairs of the J.W. Ward house in Murphysboro, IL, which was the grandmother of J.W. Ward who was also her Godmother and she never missed one of Shirley's birthdays until she passed away. Shirley was raised by her grandparents, Tom and Stella DeWitt and she was united in marriage to Rollie Conder Jr. on March 5, 1956 and he survives. During her lifetime, Shirley worked at the Jackson County Abstract office, Luster Factory in Murphysboro, IL, University of Illinois Extension Service in Murphysboro, IL, the WIC department at the Jackson County Health Department, EMT and volunteered for hospice for four years. She was a member of the Red Hatters, enjoyed playing train dominoes, nine hole card games with her friends and family, loved being around water and enjoying the sunsets and seeing the light shining on the water and seeing their sparkles. She called the sparkles her diamonds. Survivors include her husband Rollie Conder Jr. of Tamaroa, IL; two sons, Steve Conder of DuQuoin, IL and David (Jackie) Conder of Carterville, IL; one daughter, Mary Ann Williams of DuQuoin, IL; two brothers, Walter and Doug; ten grandchildren, Cheri (Paul) West, Danielle Huff, April (Dan) Snow, Ted Hood, Jonathan (Brandi) Williams, David (Alyssa) Conder II, Jacob (Ashlee) Conder, Matthew Williams, Jayden Conder and Ryanna Conder; sixteen great-grandchildren, Addy, Caidan, Bailey, Madison, Makayla, Angelynn, Anni, Zachary, Isabella, Aynsleigh, Olivia, Madelynn, Jon Weslee, Auna, Lailynn and Hazel. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, the Musnick's and Tom and Stella DeWitt; one uncle, Edward (Adelaine) DeWitt; and one aunt, Cillian Popour. A celebration of life gathering will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, DuQuoin, IL on Wednesday May 31, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Kevin Akers officiating. Interment will be in Old DuQuoin Cemetery, DuQuoin, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, DuQuoin, IL on Wednesday, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to Celtic Hospice or Shriners Hospitals for Children.
