Shirley A. Ruppert's Obituary
Shirley A. Ruppert, age 79, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at 12:43 p.m. in Pinckneyville Community Hospital, Pinckneyville, IL.
Shirley was born on December 27, 1941, in Pinckneyville, IL, a daughter to Henry and Lucy (Giacomo) Ruppert. She was a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, IL, where she loved to lead the rosary and assist with communion. Shirley had worked for 38 years as a ward clerk at Pinckneyville Community Hospital. She always enjoyed quilting, walking, painting and spending time with her nieces and nephews.
Survivors include nine nieces and nephews; Lonnie (Melinda) Ruppert of Coulterville, IL, Frank J. (Connie) Ruppert of Coulterville, IL, Mary Susan (Bogdan) Ruppert-Stroescu of St. Louis, MO, Kathleen (Bryan) Sprehe of Coulterville, IL, Lavonne (Stan) Morris of Coulterville, IL, Alan Ruppert of Pinckneyville, IL, Caroline (Don) Ruppert-Hill of Salone, AZ, Jeffery Ruppert of Pinckneyville, IL and Trudy (Lonnie) Mercurio of Sunrise, MO; a niece-in-law, Belinda Ruppert; a sister-in-law, Gertrude Ruppert of Pinckneyville, IL; seventeen great-nieces and great-nephews; and twenty-six great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her special mom and dad, Frank and Minerva Ruppert; two brothers, Frank P. Ruppert and Elmer Ruppert; a sister, Rose Hamilton; a nephew, Daniel Ruppert; four nieces, Francis McKinstry, Rebecca Kenner, Nina Ruppert and Judy Ruppert; and a great-nephew, Brian Ruppert.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Friday, September 24, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Brian Barker officiating. Frances "Fran" McKinstry who passed away on December 30, 2012, was cremated and will be buried with Shirley. Interment will be in St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery, Todds Mill, IL.
Visitation will be on Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. The rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Bruno Catholic School, Pinckneyville, IL or to the church for a mass to be said for her.
Covid-19 mandates and restrictions will be adhered to.
