Shirlene Kellerman's Obituary
Shirlene Kellerman, age 86, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Monday, April 24, 2023 at 6:30 p.m. in Pinckneyville Community Hospital, Pinckneyville, IL.
Shirlene was born on August 30, 1936 in Tamaroa, IL, a daughter to Homer Orval and Lola Pearl (Feltmeyer) Rice. On August 23, 1958, she married Robert Kellerman in Cairo, IL and he preceded her in death on October 26, 2012, after 54 years of marriage. She was a member of Murdale Baptist Church, Carbondale, IL. In addition to being a homemaker, Shirlene owned and operated Shirlene's Cafe, Pinckneyville, IL from 1990-2001. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and watching Cardinal baseball. More than anything, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her two daughters, Tammy (Gilbert) Helvey of Pinckneyville, IL and Molly (Scott) Kellerman-Wright of Pinckneyville, IL; three sisters-in-law, Sue Rice of DuQuoin, IL, Winona Hampelman of Pinckneyville, IL, and Agnes Kellerman of Detroit, MI; two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Dick and Ruby Lynch of Pinckneyville, IL and Roger and Sue Kuhnert of Winkle, IL; three grandchildren, Nicolas (Mandie) Kellerman, Chelsea (Tyler) Porritt, and Abygail (Bragi) Weathers; ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two brothers, Dennis Allen Rice and David Rice.
Shirlene's wishes were to be cremated and a private service will be held at Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL.
