Shaun Winkelmann, age 42, of Coulterville, IL, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2022 at 7:36 p.m. in his home.
Shaun was born on July 4, 1979 in Nashville, IL, a son to William John Winkelmann and Margene Elizabeth (Gandy) Krantz. He married Dawn Rackley and together they had a daughter. Shaun had worked for Ironworkers Local 392, East St. Louis, IL. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed hunting, fishing, taking his daughter to batting practice and spending time with his daughter. Shaun never missed any of his daughter's games.
Survivors include his parents, William (Mary) Winkelmann of Okawville, IL, and Margene (Doug) Krantz of Walsh, IL; one daughter, Alexa Jade Winkelmann of Coulterville, IL; one sister, Christi Nelson of New Zealand; two step-brothers, James (Laura) Leonard of Nashville, IL and Justin Krantz of Coulterville, IL; two nieces; three nephews; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
A memorial service will be held at Coulterville School Gymnasium, Coulterville, IL on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with family and friends officiating.
Visitation will be held at Coulterville School Gymnasium, Coulterville, IL on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
Memorial donations may be made to American Heart Association or Alexa's college fund.
