Sharon Chapman's Obituary
Sharon Chapman, age 70, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at 2:20 a.m. in Pinckneyville Community Hospital, Pinckneyville, IL. Sharon was born on September 8, 1943 in Oakdale, IL, a daughter to William Stanley and Virginia (McClay) Coulter. On January 31, 1962, she married Jerry Chapman in Oakdale, IL and he survives. Sharon was a member of the Oakdale Presbyterian Church, Oakdale, IL. She previously worked at the Oakdale State Bank and the Pinckneyville Democrat newspaper. Sharon enjoyed sporting events, music and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She dearly loved raising and caring for her family. Survivors include her husband, Jerry Chapman of Pinckneyville, IL; four children, Jeff Chapman of Pinckneyville, IL, Rod (Cindy) Chapman of DuQuoin, IL, Heather (Ashley) Presswood of Pinckneyville, IL and Traci Napier of Columbia, IL; 14 grandchildren, Lacy, Mariah, Evan, Steven, Lindsey, Travis, Olivia, Cole, Cade, Chase, Cambri, Aubrey, Kendyl and Rowyn; brother, Marvin Stanley (Karen) Coulter of Herrin, IL; sister, Kay (Harold) Brammeier of Oakdale, IL; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Monday, December 16, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Brother Rob Mathis and Pastor Ted Clark officiating. Interment will be in Campbell Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Monday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Parkinson Foundation.
