Sharon Kay Carns' Obituary
Sharon Kay Carns, age 73, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Friday, January 2, 2015 at 2:20 p.m. in Pinckneyville Community Hospital, Pinckneyville, IL. Sharon Kay was born on June 23, 1941, a daughter to Al and Hazel (Jones) Hawk. On November 28, 1959, she married Robert D. "Bull" Carns in Pincknevyille, IL and he preceded her in death on April 14, 1995 after 35 years of marriage. She had worked as a driver's license examiner for the State of Illinois Department of Motor Vehicles for 27 years and had also worked as a secretary at the Perry County Sheriff's Department. She was a member of New Hope Community Church, Pinckneyville, IL and her greatest love was spending time with her family, friends and her beloved dog, Charlie. Survivors include her three sons, Danny (Patti) Carns, Todd (Heather) Carns and David (Mary Lynn) Carns, all of Pinckneyville, IL; a sister-in-law, Hildred Secrease; a brother-in-law, Kenneth (Carolyn) Carns; and thirteen grandchildren, Erica (Anthony) Raciak, Chad (Becca) Carns, Clay Carns, Elyssa Carns, Brenden Wilson, Dylan Carns, Tyler Carns, Blake Carns, Jennifer Carns, Lindsay Carns, Todd (Cassie) Carns, Kaleb Hubler and Kolbi Carns. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a brother, Joseph "Zeke" Secrease; and a sister, Imogene "Sis" Fisher. Funeral services will be held at New Hope Community Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Monday, January 5, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. with Brother James Clardy officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL. Friends may call at New Hope Community Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Sunday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Monday morning at the church from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to Pinckneyville Community Hospital or New Hope Community Church. Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL is in charge of arrangements.
