Secondena Stern's Obituary
Secondena Stern, age 92, of Pinckneyville passed away on Sunday, September 16, 2007 at 8:25 p.m. in Pinckneyville Community Hospital Skilled Care Unit. Secondena was born on June 2, 1915 in Pinckneyville, a daughter to John and Caroline Malano. In 1945, she married Joseph J. Stern in Todds Mill, IL and he survives. She was a homemaker, a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, a quilter at the church, and enjoyed spending time with her grandsons. Survivors include her husband: Joseph of Pinckneyville, one son: James (Diana) Stern of Pinckneyville, one sister: Martha Malano of Pinckneyville, two grandsons: Father Ben Stern of Breese, and Tyler Stern of Pinckneyville, and one niece: Angela Converse of French Village, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister: Angelia Hubler, and three brothers: John Malano, Jr., Antonio Malano, and Nicola Malano. Funeral services will be held at St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville on Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Ben Stern officiating. Interment will be in St. Bruno Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home, Pinckneyville on Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. and then on Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. till 9:30 a.m. The rosary will be recited at 9:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Bruno School Accelerated Reading Program.
