Scott R. Wright's Obituary
Scott R Wright, age 63, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, in his home.
Scott was born on January 12, 1962, in Arlington Heights, IL, a son to Stuart Russell “Stu” and Sharon Kay (Pursell) Wright. Scott honorably served 11 years for his country in the United States Air Force. On March 5, 2008, he married Molly Ann Kellerman in Sevierville, TN, and she survives. Scott worked for the Illinois Department of Corrections for 25 years. He also worked as a gunsmith and stockmaker at Wright’s Gun Shop, Inc. He was a member of Coulterville Baptist Church, V.F.W., American Legion, NRA, Amateur Trapshooting Association, and Firearm Engravers Guild of America. Scott enjoyed engraving firearms and knives as well as repairing, restoring, and shooting firearms of all types, and fly fishing. Scott loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and living life to its fullest with his best friend and wife, Molly. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his loving wife of 17 years, Molly Kellerman Wright of Pinckneyville, IL; three daughters, Samantha (Ryan) Schupbach of Pinckneyville, IL, Shannon (Josh) Hauser of Lake Elsinore, CA, Sydney (Aaron) Jackson of Woodlawn, IL; one brother, Stu (Valerie) Wright of Caledonia, MS; one sister-in-law, Tammy (Gilbert) Helvey of Pinckneyville, IL; seven grandchildren, Evelyn Rose, Henry Scott & Oliver Dwayne Schupbach; Chloe Dawn, Daphne Faith & Sophie Grace Hauser; and Elijah Scott Jackson; three nephews, Trent (Linne) Hagene, Stuart (Allie) Wright, and Nathan Wright; one niece, Emma Dziedzic; one great nephew, Stuart Wright; three great nieces, Ayla Pyron, Lexi Hagene, and Mavery Wright; one step-nephew and family; two step-nieces and families; and several other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and infant twin brother, Steve Wright.
A graveside memorial service will be held on January 9, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. (Please wear casual attire), with Bob Davis officiating. Interment will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, in Pinckneyville, IL. Military honors will be conducted by the United States Air Force and Presswood-Daffron American Legion Post #2504.
