Sandra Kay "Sandy" Thomas Wylie's Obituary
Sandra Kay "Sandy" Thomas Wylie, age 73, of Coulterville, IL, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2015 in St. Paul's Home and Shelter Care, Belleville, IL after an extended illness. Sandy was born on March 24, 1942 in Belleville, IL, a daughter to Paul Walter and Alma M. (Wright) Thomas. She married John C. Wylie and he preceded her in death in April 1985. Sandy was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Coulterville, IL, Coulterville VFW Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed reading, writing and making greeting cards. Sandy lived in Hickory, NC from the age of 7, graduated Fred T. Ford High School, Newton, NC and attended Appalachian State University and later returned to Coulterville to help care for her mother. Survivors include one brother, John D. Thomas of Hickory, NC; three sisters, Vickie T. Amon of Charlotte, NC, Sunny T. (Mark) Hall of Black Mountain, NC and Cynthia T. "Cyndi" (Rufus) Smith of Hickory, NC; beloved aunt, Nell Thomas of Hickory, NC; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends, Flossie (Pooch) Stricker, Ann Singleton and Catherine Robb. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; step-mother, Shirlee I. Thomas; grandmother, Phyllis Zeiner; one brother, Paul Kirby Thomas and one brother-in-law, Fred E. Amon, Jr. Sandy's wishes were to be cremated with no memorial services held. Memorial donations may be made to Coulterville V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary or American Cancer Society.
