Sandra "Sandy" Grafton's Obituary
Sandra “Sandy” Grafton, age 80, of Coulterville, IL, passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at 5:32 p.m., in her daughter’s residence, surrounded by her loving family.
Sandy was born on October 9, 1944, in Sparta, IL, a daughter to William B. and Florence R. (Taylor) Lowe. On June 8, 1963, she married Kenneth “Wayne” Grafton in Coulterville, IL and he preceded her in death on November 25, 2003. She was a homemaker who took care of her family. Sandy enjoyed being outside in her yard tending to her flowers. Her greatest joy came from being a mother and grandmother. Sandy loved watching her children and grandchildren playing sports. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her children, Bill (Sheila) Grafton of Steeleville, IL, Rusty Grafton of Coulterville, IL, Toni Rehmer of Sparta, IL, and Rhonda (Tom) Hormann of Coulterville, IL; one brother, Ronald Lowe of Coulterville, IL; and six grandchildren, Alexandra (Gary) Thornton of Coulterville, IL, Erin (Jimmy) Aitken of Pinckneyville, IL, Taylor (Eric) Westerman of Steeleville, IL, Andrew (Tori) Grafton of Sparta, IL, Cory Rehmer of Sparta, IL, and Rachel Rehmer of Baldwin, IL; nine great-grandchildren, Scarlett Wegener, Kinley Rahn, Wyatt Thornton, Emilia Thornton, Rayna Thornton, Rylee Aitken, Declan Westerman, Theo Westerman, and Waylon Grafton; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and loving husband, Wayne Grafton.
A funeral service will be held at Calvary Church, Sparta, IL, on Friday, October 3, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., with Brother Tim McIntyre officiating. Interment will be in Coulterville City Cemetery, Coulterville, IL.
Visitation will be held at Calvary Church, Sparta, IL on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and again on Friday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or donor’s choice.
