Samuel Hawk's Obituary
Samuel J. Hawk, age 84, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at 10:55 a.m. in his home following a lengthy illness. Samuel was born on April 23, 1931 in Makanda, IL, a son to Samuel and Cleo (Cooper) Hawk. On January 24, 1959, he married Linda Anderson in Galesburg, IL and she survives. Samuel was a coal miner for Captain Mine Burning Star #2, Mecco Mine, Consol Mine and was a long haul truck driver. He loved his home and his family. Survivors include his wife, Linda Hawk of Pinckneyville, IL; four children, Aaron (Penny) Hawk of Pinckneyville, IL, Michael Hawk of DuBois, IL, Carolyn (Scott) Rowland of Alpha, IL and Teresa (Paul) Edmond of Orion, IL; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Viola Milton and Rachel Sanders; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Ronald E. Hawk and Sammy Everett Hawk in infancy; one grandson, Bryan Hawk; one brother, Raymond Hawk and two sisters, Maxine (Cletus) Milton and Elsie (Arthur) Lott. Samuel's wishes were to be cremated with no services held. Memorial donations may be made to Samuel Hawk family or St. Labre Indian School, Ashland, MT. Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL is in charge of charge of the arrangements.
