Ruth Ann Pabst's Obituary
Ruth Ann Pabst, age 87, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2011 surrounded by the love of her family at Coulterville Care Center, Coulterville, IL. Ruth was born on May 15, 1923 in DuQuoin, IL, a daughter to David and Edna (Hartline) Stuber. Her mother passed away when she was just 3 years old and she was taken in and raised by Ellis and Ida Tandy until she started school and then she moved back home. She married Fred E. Pabst on December 24, 1940 in Perryville, MO, who she always lovingly referred to as "Hun". They were married for almost 55 years before he passed away on September 22, 1995. In her lifetime, she was a homemaker and worked at Decca Records for 22 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Pinckneyville, IL, and enjoyed canning, reading, sewing and needlework. One of her greatest joys in life was raising her children and spending time with her family. Ruth was a truly amazing woman who loved with all of her heart and her friends and family were blessed that she spent her entire life teaching them by example how to love. Survivors include two sons, Donald Pabst of Gilbertsville, KY and Fred A. (Barbara) Pabst of Pinckneyville, IL; four daughters, Linda (Bill) Miles of Pinckneyville, IL, Jackie (Terry) Weatherford of Pinckneyville, IL, Cathy (Keith) Foutch of Pinckneyville, IL and Bobbie (Les) Marlow of Pinckneyville, IL; eleven grandchildren, Dan (Christy) Pabst, Donna (Brandon) Carter, Troy (Beth Rodgers) Pabst, Cheri (Mike) Queen, Cindy (Jerry) Happold, Christy (Kevin) Asbury, Mark (Karen) Miles, Rhonda (Dave) Lovato, Penny (Aaron) Hawk, Adam Marlow, and Beau Marlow, eighteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Imogene Meyers of McMinnville, OR, and Freida Mae Bryant of San Pedro, CA; a sister-in-law, Wilhemena Kringer of Pinckneyville, IL; and many dear nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; foster parents; husband; one daughter-in-law, Linda Marie Pabst; four sisters, Roberta Lambert, Wanda Cook, Edna Uptergraff, and Maurine Caldwell; and two brothers, Emil Stuber and Sam Stuber. Funeral services will be held at the First United Methodist Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Jim Barnett officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, DuQuoin, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and then at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to the Walnut Grove Cemetery or First United Methodist Church Roof Fund, Pinckneyville, IL.
