Ruth A. Bommerscheim's Obituary
Ruth M. Bommerscheim, age 85, of Pinckneyville, IL passed on Thursday evening December 5, 2013 at Methodist Le Bonheur Germantown Hospital, Germantown, Tennessee. Ruth was born on January 30, 1928 in Pinckneyville, IL, a daughter to William Bommerscheim and Irene (Hubler) Bommerscheim. After graduating from Pinckneyville High School, Ruth worked as a bookkeeper at the Pinckneyville dress factory for 17 years. From there, she went on to work as a secretary and a computer system administrator at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., and at Scott AFB in Illinois for 30 years. During that time, she put her life and career on hold for almost 3 years to care for a nephew and three nieces after their mother died. She was much loved for her kindness and generous spirit. She is survived by a sister, Patricia Kluempers (Harry) of Carmel, Indiana, and numerous nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, one brother; Richard Bommerscheim, and three sisters; Mildred Ogilvie, Joan Miller, and Lorraine Patten. Funeral services will be held at St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Friday, December 13, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Augustine Ibezimako officiating. Interment will be in St. Bruno Catholic Cemetery in Pinckneyville, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. The rosary will be recited at 9:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to St. Bruno's Catholic Church.
