Ruby Juanita Barr's Obituary
Ruby Juanita Barr, age 97, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2009 at 7:20 p.m. in Fair Acres Nursing Home, DuQuoin, IL Ruby was born on October 11, 1911 in Dahlgren, IL, a daughter to Lorton and Della DeWitt. On February 21, 1931, she married Reverend Virgil Herman Barr in Dahlgren, IL and he preceded her in death on November 6, 1984. She was a member of Cross Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL and had worked for the International Shoe Company, Mt. Vernon, IL. Ruby enjoyed outdoor activities such as gardening, fishing and camping. She had resided at Fair Acres Nursing Home, DuQuoin, IL for the past several years. Survivors include her son: Bill Barr of Pinckneyville, IL, five grandchildren: Mark (Shellie) Barr of Pinckneyville, IL, Brenda (Kenneth) Hagene of Pinckneyville, IL, Mikalean Barr of Pinckneyville, IL, Amanda (Gordy) Showalter of DuQuoin, IL and Donnie (Tammy) Kincannon of Pinckneyville, six great-grandchildren: Katie Barr, Airman 1st Class Corey Hagene, Chelsea Hagene, Christine Hagene, Nolan Showalter, and Jordyn Weiland, one daughter-in-law: Sandy Barr of Pinckneyville, IL and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers: Guy and Roy Dewitt, two sisters: Rella Daily and Rosalee Rogers and one great-grandson: Joey Hagene. Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Brother Tim McIntyre officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
