Rosalyn E. "Rose" Powers' Obituary
Rosalyn E. "Rose" Powers, age 60, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Monday, January 13, 2014 at 8:48 a.m. in her home. Rose was born on December 27, 1953 in Olney, IL, a daughter to Charles A. and Evelyn (Johnston) Koertge. In 1978, she married William "Bill" Powers in Mulberry Grove, IL and he survives. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Pinckneyville, IL, a social worker for 5-Star Industries for 5 years and then a case coordinator for Southern Illinois Coordination Services for the State of Illinois for several years. Rose was an avid flower gardener and dearly loved their dog, Quinn. Survivors include her husband, Bill Powers of Pinckneyville, IL; mother, Evelyn Koertge of Mulberry Grove, IL; three brothers, David (Vick) Koertge of Mulberry Grove, IL, Donald Ray (Brenda) Koertge of Plano, TX and Richard J. (Barbara) Koertge of Chatham, IL and several dear nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father. Funeral services will be held at the First United Methodist Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. with Reverend Jim Barnett officiating. Interment will be on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in Mulberry Grove Cemetery, Mulberry Grove, IL. Friends may call at the First United Methodist Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to First United Methodist Church, Pinckneyville, IL. Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL is in charge of the arrangements.
