Rosalia A. Sroka's Obituary
Rosalia A. Sroka, age 96, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at 9:30 p.m. in her home.
Rosalia was born on March 28, 1924 in Pinckneyville, IL, a daughter to Arthur and Catherine (Bathon) Heisner. On September 20, 1943, she married Andrew James Sroka in Todds Mill, IL and he preceded her in death on April 3, 1981. She was a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, IL. Early in life, Rosalia had worked for Bussmann Fuse Factory, St. Louis, MO. Most of her life though had been spent working as a homemaker, farmer's wife, mother and grandmother. Those were jobs that she cherished and did with amazing honor and dedication. She was very well known for setting up quilts for people and had them sent to her from all over the United States. She enjoyed quilting and loved her quilting clubs like the Stitch & Chatter which she belonged to for over 35 years. Rosalia's greatest love was her family and she loved them fiercely. Well into her advanced years she was taking care of them and always baking or cooking something for them. She felt that they were her greatest blessings and she was definitely theirs. She will be missed and remembered fondly by them all.
Survivors include her four children, Barbara (Fred) Pabst of Pinckneyville, IL, Linda (Lloyd) Stern of Chester, IL, Stephen (Kim) Sroka of Pinckneyville, IL and Marcella "Sally" (Allen) Humphrey of DuQuoin, IL; twelve grandchildren, Troy Pabst (Beth Rogers), Cheri (Mike) Queen, Cindy (Jerry) Happold, Christy (Kevin) Asbury, Nathan (Julie) Stern, Eric (Jessica) Stern, Amanda (George) Fender, Andrew (Billie) Sroka, Craig Sroka (fiancé, Mary Degenhardt), Jill Sroka, Neil (Angela) Humphrey, and Megan (Bryant) Hutchings; seventeen great-grandchildren and one on the way; four great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, all of which she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew James Sroka; a son, James "Jim" Sroka; five brothers, Sylvester Heisner, Raymond Heisner, Floyd Heisner, Clarence Heisner, and James Heisner; and two sisters, Marcella Heisner and Dorothy Barnowski. Due to unforseen

Due to health concerns related to the Covid-19 virus and by the signing of executive order by Governor J.B. Pritzker, Phase Four attendance and social distancing will be enforced.
