Ronald "Ron" D. Tanner's Obituary
Ronald "Ron" D. Tanner, age 84, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2024 at 11:05 p.m., in SSM St. Louis University Hospital, St. Louis, MO, surrounded by his loving family.
Ron was born on October 1, 1939 in Pinckneyville, IL, a son to Ernest and Virginia "Erma" (Offerman) Tanner. On November, 19, 1960, he married Doris Goldman at Nine Mile Baptist Church in Tamaroa, IL. He was a member of Beaucoup Baptist Church in Pinckneyville, IL, Pinckneyville Rotary Club, and the Pinckneyville High School Booster Club. A 30 plus year business owner of Coast to Coast Hardware. Ron enjoyed swinging on his porch swing, his grandkids, Panther basketball, and his beloved St. Louis Cardinals.
Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years, Doris Tanner of Pinckneyville, IL; one daughter, Carole Bednarz of Nashville, IL; one son, Steven (Dawn) Tanner of Pinckneyville, IL; one brother, Bob Tanner of Sesser, IL; four grandchildren, Matthew (Melissa) Bednarz of Troy, IL, Travis Bednarz of Pinckneyville, IL, Dustin Tanner of Pinckneyville, IL, and Skye Tanner of Pinckneyville, IL; two great-grandchildren Abbigail Bednarz and Layla Bednarz, several grand dogs, and his best buddy, Ollie.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his son-in-law, Pete Bednarz.
A funeral service will be held at Beaucoup Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Friday, May 3, 2024 at 10:00 a.m., with Brother Mark Lee officiating. Interment will be at Campbell Cemetery, Tamaroa, IL.
A visitation will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Thursday, May 2, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and again on Friday morning at the church, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
Memorial donations may be made to Beaucoup Baptist Church.
