Ronald W. Moore's Obituary
Ronald W. Moore, age 83, of Oakdale, IL, passed away on Monday, July 7, 2025, at 1:58 a.m., in his home.
Ronald was born at home on October 9, 1941, in DuQuoin, IL, a son to Ted and Marybelle (Kirkland) Moore. On March 5, 1960, he married Lucretia A. Moore in Pinckneyville, IL and she preceded him in death on Thursday, July 28, 2016. Ronald retired after thirty and a half years from United Auto Workers for General Motors. He enjoyed playing cards, being outdoors, hunting, fishing, gardening, and hanging out by the water relaxing. Ronald loved spending time with his family. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his five children, Ronald (Barb) Moore of Nashville, IL; Cheryl Poe of DuQuoin, IL; Jason (Janine) Moore of Oakdale, IL; Michael Sean (Jessica) Moore of Oakdale, IL, and Nicole Cox of Oakdale, IL; five grandchildren, Ryan (Lindsay) Reel, Sean (Christi) Reel, Lucrista "Annie” (Shawn) Daniels, Autumn Richards, and Tiffani Poe (Daniel Maddox); nine great grandchildren, Everett James Maddox, Elsie Maddox, Isla Maddox, Teddy Poe, Isabella Schiebe, Keegan Reel, Gavin Reel, Seth Daniels, and Keagin Daniels; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one granddaughter, Chelsea Poe; two sons in law, Steve Poe, and Chris Cox; and one brother, John Moore
It was Ronald’s wishes to be cremated. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2025, from 6 p.m., until 9 p.m., at the Oakdale Village Hall (75 Weigh Street, Oakdale, IL 62268). Special words will be spoken by his nephew, Jake Lusby at 7:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Oakdale Grade School.
Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL, is in charge of the cremation.
