Ronald G. Carns' Obituary
Ronald G. Carns, age 76, of Coulterville, IL, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at 10:45 a.m. in Sparta Community Hospital Emergency Room, Sparta, IL. Ronald was born in Coulterville, IL on March 10, 1933, a son to Walter and Hattie (Hannah) Carns. On August 5, 1960 he married Mildred "Mickey" Kahl in Georgia and she preceded him in death on January 7, 1990. On November 4, 1992 he married Thelma Jean (Bouas) Eaton in Needle Pointe, Hawaii and she survives. Ronald was a veteran of the United States Army where he served in the Korean War and retired after twenty years as a Sergeant 1st Class. He was employed at Illinois Power Company for twenty years and was a lifetime member of V.F.W. Post 6865 in Coulterville, IL. Ronald loved golfing, fishing but especially spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, one daughter: Leslie (Jay) Lehman of Marissa, IL, one daughter-in-law: Lisa Carns of Coulterville, IL, two grandsons: Jamey (Misty) Carns of Nashville, IL and Nate Carns of Coulterville, IL, four great-grandchildren: Hunter, Denver and Skyler Gill and Ember Carns, one step-son: Joe (Cheryl) Eaton of Nashville, IL, three step-daughters: Peggy (Richard) Stewart and Susan Venus all of Coulterville, IL and Mary (Mike) Alms of Venedy, IL, one brother: Kenny (Carolyn) Carns of St. Charles, MO, one sister: Jacqueline "Jackie" Freund of Johnsburg, IL, thirteen step-grandchildren: Lindsay Lehman of Belleville, IL, Mariah (Tim) Harle and Heather (Will) Harris all of Coulterville, IL, David (Emma) Stewart of Glen Carbon, IL, Megan (Jahir) Estoada of Cape Girardeau, MO, Matt (Tanya) Eaton of Nashville, IL, Holly (Dereck) Velayco of Belleville, IL, Zack (Karena) Venus of Wisconsin, Dani Venus of Marissa, IL, Noah Venus of Coulterville, IL, Bre ann (Chris) Gerald, Taylor and Kayla Alms all of Venedy, IL, five step great-grandchildren: Hannah and Addie Harris and Hailey and Raegen Harle all of Coulterville, IL, and Zavier Eaton of Nashville, IL and many other dear nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his first wife, one son: Gary Lee Carns and six brothers: Raymond, Tommy, Robert, Wayne, Walton "Pete", and Vernon "Bud" Carns. Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, IL on Saturday, May 30, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. with Reverend Jim Ryan officiating. Interment will be in Coulterville City Cemetery, Coulterville, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
