Ron D. Weinhoffer's Obituary
Ron D. Weinhoffer, age 82, of DuQuoin, IL, passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at 6:36 a.m., in Pinckneyville Community Hospital, Pinckneyville, IL.
Ronald was born on June 25, 1943 in Coulterville, IL, a son to Delbert Hugh and Ernestine Parezetta (Campbell) Weinhoffer. On December 16, 1959, he married Luella Ruthann “Ruthie” Kohlhaas in Perryville, MO and she survives. Ron worked at and retired from Sparta Printing after 30 years of service and had mowed at the World Shooting Complex in Sparta, IL for 7 years. Ron always was busy and had worked since he was 15 years old. He enjoyed hunting, mowing grass, cutting firewood, playing cards, and gardening. Ron loved to dance and spend time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years, Luella Ruthann “Ruthie” Weinhoffer of DuQuoin, IL; his children, Todd (significant other Mary Dunmyer) Weinhoffer of Pinckneyville, IL, Elizabeth “Betsy” Bowen of DuQuoin, IL, and Cody Nicole (Mathew) McKee of Little Rock, AR; one brother, Mike (Joyce) Weinhoffer of Cutler, IL; one sister-in-law, Glenna (James) Koester of Evansville, IL; eight grandchildren, Gina Montgomery of Richmond, VA, Stacia (Dan) Siska of Desoto, IL, Tyson Weinhoffer of Pinckneyville, IL, Cory (Adrien) Weinhoffer of Christopher, IL, Abby (Phillip) Sieberg, Sparta, IL, Ashlyn McKee of Little Rock, AR, Paige (Sam) Cowan of Mulberry, AR, and Megan Slone of Sparta, IL; and eleven great-grandchildren, Eli Sieburg, Taliq Montgomery, Kyan Montgomery, Ella Hamilton, Jonnah Siska, Haylee Porter, Eden Weinhoffer, Tiara Slone, Olivia Slone, Sophia Slone and Trevor Lueth.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, William Frank Weinhoffer and Ralph Weinhoffer; one sister, Katherine Marie Luthy; one brother-in-law, Loren Dale Luthy; and one grandson, Benjamin Rob Slone.
Ron’s wishes were to be cremated, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date and time.
