Roger D. Gooden's Obituary
Roger D. Gooden, age 64, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2026 at 8:48 a.m., in his home surrounded by his loving family.
Roger was born on July 29, 1961 in Pinckneyville, IL, a son to James and Barbara (Bigler) Gooden. Roger worked many years for several sawmills and most recently for Lankk Construction, Inc., as a masonry laborer. He loved to deer hunt, play cards, and hang out with his brothers. Roger will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his mother, Barbara Gooden of Pinckneyville, IL; one brother, Thomas (Kelly) Gooden of Pittsburg, IL; one sister, Laurie (Tom) Engelhardt of Pinckneyville, IL; one sister-in-law, Leola Gooden of Carterville, IL; special friend, Nora Craig of Christopher, IL; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by father, James Gooden; and one brother, Gerald “Jerry” Gooden.
Memorial visitation will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL, on Saturday, January 10, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
