Robert James Wooten's Obituary
Robert James "Jim" Wooten, age 82, of Marion, IL, formerly of Coulterville, IL, died at his home on Friday, June 23, 2006 at 11:52 p.m. Jim was born on March 11, 1924 in La Grange, GA the son of Robert and Leona (Borders) Wooten. He was raised by his father and step-mother, Leona Vasheit Wooten. He married Sandra Ritchie on May 13, 1995 in Marion, IL. Jim served in the U.S. Army during World War II and worked as a truck driver for Slay Trucking of St. Louis, MO before retiring. He was a member of the Teamsters Union and the V.F.W. of Creal Springs, IL. Survivors include his wife, Sandy, of Marion, IL, a son, Richard Wooten and wife Linda, of Coulterville, IL, two daughters, Theresa Patton and husband Marty of Sparta, IL, and Rita Kelly and husband Larry of Sikeston, MO, a step-son, Don Keen and wife Tammy of Marion, IL, seven grandchildren, Rich Wooten, Elizabeth Beckley, Veronica Nagel, Garrett Kelly, Wesley Kelly, and David and Brittany Ritchie, which Jim has been helping to raise. 2 brothers, Jack Wooten and wife Pat, Steve Wooten and wife Cheryl, and a sister-in-law, Betty Wooten, all of Jasper, TN. Survivors also include three great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Frank Wooten, a sister, Tommie Lou Hadden and a granddaughter, Kristin Wooten. Funeral services will be held in the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home, Coulterville, IL on Monday, June 26, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Clifton Lingle officiating. Interment will be in the Coulterville City Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, June 25, 2006 from 4:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. and on Monday, June 26, 2006 from 8:00 a.m. till services Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
