Robert McCrary's Obituary
Robert "Rob" McCrary, age 82, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Friday, December 9, 2016 at 6:05 a.m. at his home in Pinckneyville, IL. Rob was born on August 19, 1934 in Pinckneyville, IL, a son to Millard J. and Bertha (Harris) McCrary. On July 11, 1955, he married Paula J. Spies in Corinth, MS and she preceded him in death on May 26, 2005. He retired after 36 years as a coal miner at Arch (Captain Mine). He was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL. He loved riding and working on motorcycles, Nascar, boating and skiing, and was an animal lover. He was a member and former local # president of UMWA, and a member of the National Rifle Association. Rob had a wonderful sense of humor till the very end. Survivors include three daughters; Angie (Mark) Moore of Murphysboro, IL, Robbie (Randy Hester) McCrary of Indianapolis, IN, Jayne Ann (Richard) Stanfill of Indianapolis, IN; one daughter-in-law, Debra (Jody) Goetting; two Sisters, Norma Hicks and Marilyn (Kenny) Williams both of Pinckneyville, IL; thirteen grandchildren, Anna Mae (Wayne) Hawkins, Emily (Geoff) Hovde, Jay (Becca) McCrary, Jamie Lee (Joe) Huite, Ali EL-Ayins, Eman (Ryan Lowe) EL-Ayins, Ream (Tyler Stewart) EL-Ayins, Andrew Morgenthaler, Shelby Morgenthaler, Riley Stanfill, Austin Moore, Grace Murr, Logan Goetting; six great-grandchildren, Clayton Hawkins, Jaden and Joel Huite, Dax Hawkins, Peyton Hawkins, Alex Rupe. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one son, James Robert "Jamie" McCrary; one sister, Bonnie Carter. Funeral Services will be held at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Monday, December 12, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Brother Rob Mathis officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL. Friends may call at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to National Rifle Association or Perry County Humane Society. Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL is in charge of arrangements.
