Robert Gene "Bob" Pyatt's Obituary
Robert G. "Bob" Pyatt, age 79, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2019 in his home surrounded by his family.
Bob was born on September 18, 1940 in Pinckneyville, IL, a son to Eugene and Alberta (Richmond) Pyatt. On September 16, 1961, he married Angela Kay "Angie" Johnson at the United Methodist Church, Pinckneyville, IL and she survives. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Pinckneyville, IL. Bob served as his senior class president at PCHS in 1958. He was a lifelong grain and livestock farmer with Pyatt Brothers Farms. He retired in 2001 after 36 years as a coal miner with Arch of Illinois Captain Mine. He was a lifetime and very active member of the FFA Alumni Association and a member of the Farm Bureau, NRA, and UMWA. Bob was an avid horseman, enjoyed horseback and trail riding, and was a member of the Sheriff's Posse and DuQuoin Saddle Club. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, bird watching, dancing, collecting Ag related antiques and was a huge Panther fan but his greatest joy was his family and having family gatherings. Above all, Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. We know Bob now dwells with the Lord in Heaven. His legacy on earth lives on through his family.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Angie Pyatt of Pinckneyville, IL; two sons, Dale Eugene (Cathy) Pyatt of Pinckneyville, IL and Robert Gene Pyatt, II of Pinckneyville, IL; a daughter, Kay Jean (Dale) Winter of Pinckneyville, IL; two brothers, Ted (Marilyn) Pyatt of Pinckneyville, IL and Paul (Joyce) Pyatt of Pinckneyville, IL; six grandchildren, Nicole (Austin) Marlow, Kayla (Eric) Heine, Dustin Winter (Aubrey Davis), Dayne Winter, Dalton Pyatt, and Jessie Pyatt; and four great-grandchildren, Reed, Aubrey and Hadley Marlow and Arlo Heine and another great-granddaughter coming soon.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at the United Methodist Church, Pinckneyville on Friday, January 3, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Don Meeks officiating. Interment will be in Galum Presbyterian Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL.
Visitation will be at the United Methodist Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday morning at the church from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the Galum Cemetery Association, First United Methodist Church or Pinckneyville FFA Alumni Association.
