Rita Jean Dunihoo's Obituary
Rita Jean Dunihoo, age 56, of Nashville, IL, passed away at 8:18 a.m., on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, in her home.
Rita was born on January 20, 1968 in Pinckneyville, IL, a daughter to Frank Eugene and Melba Jean (Owen) Dunihoo. Rita worked as a housekeeper for Manor at Mason Woods, Pinckneyville, IL, for several years. She was of the Baptist faith and attended Concord Baptist Church, Rice, IL. Rita loved her job, cats, being outdoors, going fishing, riding in the side by side and watching the Dallas Cowboys play. She loved her family very much and will be truly missed.
Survivors include her parents, Frank and Melba Dunihoo of Rice, IL; fiancé, John W. Lansford of Rice, IL; one daughter, Sara Rose Nowakowski of Rice, IL; one brother, Jason (Stacie) Dunihoo of Rice, IL; one nephew, Bradan Dunihoo; two aunts, Faye Jones and Mary Ann (Don) Thomas; special friend, Patty Iffert Robertson who treated Rita like a daughter; and numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Wilfred and May Owen; paternal grandparents, Bill and Verna Lee Dunihoo.
A memorial service will be held at Concord Baptist Church, Rice, IL on November 2, 2024 at 11:00 a.m., with Reverend Kenneth Owen officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to daughter, Sara Rose Nowakowski.
