Rita Ida Iffert's Obituary
Rita Ida Iffert, age 91, of DuQuoin, IL, passed away at 4:35 a.m. on Monday, July 18, 2016 in Fairview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, DuQuoin, IL. Rita was born on February 19, 1925 in DuQuoin, IL, a daughter to Ben and Catherine (Nehring) Schneider. On October 23, 1946 she married Herbert Iffert in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, DuQuoin, IL and he preceded her in death on June 19, 1982. Rita was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, DuQuoin, IL. Rita worked as cook in several nursing home and hospitals in Pinckneyville, IL and DuQuoin, IL. She loved quilting, making pies, gardening, flowers and dancing, especially waltzing. Survivors include three daughters, Marian (Gary) Pollard of West Branson, MO, Patricia Robertson of Pinckneyville, Il and Caroline (Bill) Bell of Dahlgren, IL; two sons, John David (Marie) Iffert of Tamaroa, IL and Robert (Pat) Iffert of Tamaroa, IL; eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; one sister, Elizabeth Ebersohl of Murphysboro, IL; daughter-in-law, Gina Peradotto-Iffert of Pinckneyville, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three sons, Rick and two at birth; four brothers, Bernard Schneider, Paul Schneider, Cletus Schneider and Aloysius Schneider and one sister, Dolores Stein. Funeral services will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, DuQuoin, IL on Friday, July 22, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Bernard Goedde officiating. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, DuQuoin, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, DuQuoin, IL on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday at the funeral home 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. The rosary will be recited Friday at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Perry County Humane Society.
