Richard D. Winter's Obituary
Richard D. Winter, age 88, of Pinckneyville, IL passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at 5:30 p.m. in Pinckneyville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Richard was born July 30, 1926 in Pinckneyville, IL, a son to Henry O. and Jessie (Perry) Winter. On July 18, 1948, Richard married Joan Feahrs in Carbondale, IL, and she survives. He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Pinckneyville, IL and a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge, Murphysboro, IL. Richard worked as a farmer, and enjoyed spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife; one son, Russell (Barbara) Winter of Pinckneyville, IL; one daughter, Barbara E. (Michael) Winter Starmer of Missoula, MT; one step-brother, Jackie Robinson of Belleville, IL; seven grandchildren, Amanda Carter, Ryan Winter, Alexis Dyer, Jennifer Winter, Natasha Winter, Stephany Winter, and Hayley Winter; two great-granchildren, Kirsten Dyer and Andrew Lee Jett; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, David Winter; and one brother in infancy, Fredrick Winter and one step-brother, Leonard Robinson. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Cindy Bean officiating. Interment will be in Galum Presbyterian Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Monday, November 17, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Tuesday morning from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to St. Paul United Church of Christ, Pinckneyville, IL.
