Richard G. Presswood's Obituary
Richard G. Presswood, Sr., age 73, of Pinckneyville, passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at 7:50 p.m. in Pinckneyville Community Hospital. Rick was born on March 22, 1933 in Pinckneyville, IL, a son to Kenneth and Ethel (Runion) Presswood. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in Alaska. He married Yvonne "Bonnie" Vanderhoof on October 13, 1956 in Chicago, IL and she survives. He was a member of the Rosedale Baptist Church, Pinckneyville and enjoyed collecting St. Louis Cardinal Memorabilia, camping, hunting and fishing. Survivors include his wife: Bonnie of Pinckneyville, one son: Rick Presswood and wife Pam of Pinckneyville, one daughter: DeeDee Cunningham and husband Andy of Murphysboro, IL, two brothers: Virgil Presswood and wife Zelda of Monmouth, IL, and Ross Presswood of Clarksville, TN, one sister: Brenda Norton of Carbondale, IL, four grandchildren: Amy Flowers and husband Matt of Pinckneyville, Doug Presswood of Pinckneyville, Crystal Cunningham of Carbondale, and A.J. Cunningham of Murphysboro, and two great-grandchildren: Tristen and Jonathan of Pinckneyville. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother: Roland Presswood. Funeral services will be held at Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home, Pinckneyville on Friday, July 21, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Jim Walizer officiating. Interment will be in Holts Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call at Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home, Pinckneyville on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. till 9:00 p.m. and again on Friday from 8:00 a.m. until the time of services. Memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association.
