Ralph Edward Burton's Obituary
Ralph E. Burton, age 57, of Coulterville, IL, passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2011 in Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO. Ralph was born on June 6, 1953, in White Oak, AR, a son to Herman H. and Wanda Lee (Eagle) Burton. He worked as a coal miner for Zeigler Coal, Retiring after 28 years. Ralph was a member of the U.M.W.A and was a devoted caregiver to his mother. Ralph is survived by his mother, Wanda Burton of Coulterville, IL; a daughter, Shelby (Tim) Cox of DuQuoin, IL; three brothers, David Burton, Keith Burton and Steve (Vicki) Burton all of Coulterville, IL; seven nieces and nephews, Timmy McDougal, Tommy McDougal, Amanda Burton, Niki Burton, Elisha Burton, Hannah (David) Smith, and Elijah Burton; aunts and uncles, Don and Mary Eagle, Doris and Vernon Ward and Jim McLung; and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father, two sons, Scotty Burton and Trent Kirkpatrick; one sister, Donna McDougal; and one niece, Susie McDougal. Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, IL on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. with Ron Mazander officiating. Interment will be in the Burton Family Cemetery, Columbine Road, Coulterville, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home on Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to Muscular Dystrophy Association.
