Phyllis Marie Epplin's Obituary
Phyllis Marie Epplin, age 94, of Pinckneyville, IL passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at 6:35 a.m., in her home.
Phyllis was born on January 11, 1931, in Perry County, IL, a daughter to Frank J. and Adeline G. (Wesseln) Epplin. She worked for Roe Abstract as an abstracter for 59 years. Phyllis was a proud member and choir director at St. Bruno Catholic Church where she loved to volunteer. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters. Phyllis loved to bowl and was in two leagues, enjoyed traveling and embroidery. She was one of the four dolls in the Pinckneyville Mardi Gras Parade. Phyllis loved spending time with her family and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include two nephews, Dennis (Janis) Epplin of Pinckneyville, IL and Terry (Cheryl) Epplin of Pinckneyville, IL; one niece, Denise (Bill) Thimmig of Pinckneyville, IL; and other nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Raymond Leo Epplin and Anthony R. Epplin; and one sister, Bernadine Eisfelder.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, IL, on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., with Father John Igwe and Father Christian Iwuagwu officiating. Interment will be in St. Bruno Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL.
Visitation will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL, on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m., with the rosary being recited at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Bruno Catholic School and Perry County Humane Society.
