Peggy Louise Dunn's Obituary
Peggy Louise Dunn, age 72, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Monday, October 18, 2021 at 9:29 a.m. in Memorial Hospital, Carbondale, IL.
Peggy Louise was born on April 30, 1949 in Pinckneyville, IL, a daughter to Howard Leroy Williams and Erma Vagene "Genie" (Todd) Wilcox. On May 3, 1969, she married Gary Lee Ferrero in Pinckneyville, IL. Together they had two children, a son, Bart (Kathy Kinstler) Ferrero and a daughter, Natalie (Brad) Colvis. Gary preceded her in death on July 8, 1985 after 16 years of marriage. Peggy married Russell D. Dunn on June 4, 1988 in Pinckneyville, IL and became a loving stepmother to Eric and Courtney Dunn. She was a Christian who loved the Lord, and was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL. Peggy's lifelong passion was loving and supporting her family, friends, and church. She particularly enjoyed gardening, canning, reading, crocheting, and playing games with her loved ones.
Survivors include her husband, Russell D. Dunn of Pinckneyville, IL; son, Bart (Kathy) Ferrero of Columbus, IN; daughter, Natalie (Brad) Colvis of Chester, IL; stepson, Eric (Novalie) Dunn of Greensboro, NC; a stepdaughter, Courtney Dunn of Pinckneyville, IL; two sisters, Carol Millikin of DuQuoin, IL and Beth Bates of DuQuoin, IL; two brothers, J.T. (Patti) Wilcox of Idabel, OK and Bill Wilcox of Ridgecrest, CA; a stepbrother, Glen (Carole) Wilcox of Murphysboro, IL; twelve grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gary L. Ferrero; a brother, Tom; and a stepsister, Mary Lou Webb.
Funeral services will be held at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Brother Rob Mathis officiating. Interment will be at Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL.
Visitation will be held at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
