Patricia Ann "Pat" Gladson's Obituary
Patricia Ann "Pat" Gladson, age 83, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2013 at 10:16 p.m. in St. Louis University Hospital, St. Louis, MO. Pat was born on August 22, 1930 in Pinckneyville, IL a daughter to Guy Elijah and Hannah Bernice (Johnson) Dillow. On March 16, 1949, she married William R. "Bill" Gladson in Pinckneyville, IL and he preceded her in death on November 24, 2008. Pat was a longtime active member of the First United Methodist Church, Pinckneyville, IL. She worked as an assistant librarian, secretary for the former Dunn Brothers Motors and for Freeman United Coal Company at the scale house. Pat also worked for the DuQuoin State Fair as the Livestock and Exhibition Coordinator. For the past years, she worked for the Caring and Sharing Thrift Store and was a charter member. Pat was an avid seamstress and crafter who loved sewing for her children and grandchildren. Survivors include two sons, James W. (Jeannie) Gladson and Carl D. (Teddi) Gladson; daughter, Karen Sue (Leonard) Heisner all of Pinckneyville, IL; grandchildren, Angela and Tom Webb, Patrick W. Gladson and London Brown all of Murphysboro, IL, William N. and Stephanie Gladson of Carterville, IL, Chad and Julie Griffin of DuQuoin, IL, Dr's Seth and Menaka Gladson of Chesterfield, MO, Autumn and Brian Harthill of St. Peters, MO, Hillary and Aaron Grupe of Fenton, MO, L.J. and Nicole Heisner and Josh and Holly Heisner all of Pinckneyville, IL;11 great-grandchildren; and many dear nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Jeanette Reed and granddaughter, Fawn Renee Gladson. Funeral services will be held at First United Methodist Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Jim Barnett officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to Caring and Sharing Thrift Store or the First United Methodist Church, Pinckneyville, IL.
