Orville M. Harstick's Obituary
Orville M. Harstick, age 85 of Coulterville, IL, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2009 at 7:35 a.m. in Washington County Hospital, Nashville, IL. Orville was born on May 28, 1924 in Coulterville, IL, a son to Harry and Ann Marie (Illy) Harstick. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during WW II and had worked as a coal miner for Peabody Coal Company until his retirement. Orville was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Lively Grove, IL and enjoyed hunting with his coon dogs and farming. Orville is survived by two sons: Dale (Helen) Harstick of Coulterville, IL and Lawrence (Karen) Harstick of New Baden, IL, three daughters: Carol Bellflower of Mt. Vernon, IL, Christine Nicholson of Olive Branch, MS and Mariella Harstick of Belleville, IL, three grandchildren: Angela Barber, Candice Harstick and Erica Harstick, three great-grandchildren: J.D. Pelate, Lana Bockhorn and Ariana Harstick, one brother: Edward Harstick of Allen Park, MI, one sister: Bernice (Bob) Hernandez of LeMay, MO and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons: Michael Harstick and James Harstick and one sister: Kathleen Bingel. Private family services will be held. Interment will in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery, Lively Grove, IL. Memorials may be made to Coulterville V.F.W. Post 6865. Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, IL is in charge of the arrangements.
