Orval D. Slusher's Obituary
Orval D. Slusher age 87 of Pinckneyville, IL passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2009 at 4:30 p.m. in Friendship Manor Nursing Home, Nashville, IL. Orval was born on June 14, 1922 in Pinckneyville, IL, a son to Henry and Sadie (McKinstry) Slusher. On March 23, 1948, he married Wanda Helvey in Pinckneyville, IL and she preceded him in death on March 7, 1984. Orval was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during WW II and worked for many years at the My-T-Fine Pudding Factory in Pinckneyville, IL until his retirement. Orval is survived by one son; Douglas Slusher, one daughter; Melissa (Terry) Rheinecker , three grandchildren; Leslie Rheinecker , Zachary Rheinecker and Timothy (Caree) Slusher and two great-grandchildren; Sadie and Gavin. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and two brothers: Les and Lloyd Slusher. Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. with Brother Ted Clark officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL. Friend may call at Pyatt Funeral Home on Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Memorials may be made to the Desert View Indian Mission, Farmington, NM.
