Ogden Keith Peters' Obituary
Ogden Keith Peters, age 70, of Sandia, TX, formerly of DuQuoin, IL, passed away unexpectedly at his home Thursday, June 22, 2006.
Ogden was born in Centralia, IL, October 6, 1935, the son of Thomas Ogden and Mozelle (Taylor) Peters, and step-father, George Brewner. Ogden was united in marriage to Phyllis Powell and she survives. Ogden retired from Alden Press in Elk Grove Village, IL as a manager, was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and was a member of the VFW, American Legion, and Elks of DuQuoin, IL. Ogden is survived by his wife Phyllis of Sandia, TX, four sons, Michael Peters and wife Cheryl of Hanover Park, Illinois, Richard Petty of Ohio, Gary Peters and wife Frankie of Florida, Wayne peters and wife Jerri of Florida, two daughters, Tracy Whitis and her husband Doug of KY,Nacie Smith and husband Terry of Florida, three brothers, Richard Peters and wife Sally of IL, Kent Peters and wife Margie of DuQuoin, IL, Jo Gene Brewner and wife Martha of Dow, IL, three sisters, Phyllis Crawford of Pinckneyville, IL, Lela Kay Cochran and husband Doug of GA, Cassie Dintleman and husband Dave of DuQuoin, IL, Seventeen grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Ogden was preceded in death by his parents, step father, two sons, Randy and Tad Petty, and one brother, James Hamilton. Funeral services will be Friday morning, June 30, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pyatt-Harrawood & Epplin Funeral Home, DuQuoin, IL. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, DuQuoin, IL. Friends may call at the Pyatt-Harrawood & Epplin Funeral Home in DuQuoin, IL Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. till 9:00 p.m. and again on Friday morning from 8:00 a.m. till time of Services. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
