Odell "Odee" Stevenson's Obituary
Odell "Odee" Stevenson, age 97, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at 5:30 a.m. in Washington County Hospital, Nashville, IL.
Odell was born on October 29, 1923 in West Frankfort, IL, a daughter to James and Rose (Schramm) Daffron. On May 6, 1942, she married Jerald Neil Stevenson in Pinckneyville, IL and he preceded her in death on May 12, 1972. Odell was of a nondenominational faith. She had worked at the Pinckneyville Community Hospital, Pinckneyville, IL for 25 years as a registered nurse. She loved cooking meals for her family and friends. She loved reading her bible and sitting on her front porch watching the children playing at the school across the street.
Survivors include her three sons, Jeffery N. (Belinda) Stevenson of Pontoon Beach, IL, James A. (Margie) Stevenson of Pinckneyville, IL and Joseph S. (Joyce) Stevenson of DuQuoin, IL; her daughter, Susan E. (Jack) Biggs of Brownstown, IL; thirteen grandchildren; and thirty great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three sisters, Ida May Harriss-Rich, Ruth Sawyer and Norma Stanton; and two brothers, John Daffron and Tom Daffron.
A private graveside service will be held at Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL with Scott Potter and Brian Wagler officiating.
Covid resurgence restrictions will be adhered to, attendance will be limited and social distancing will be enforced. All attendees are asked to wear a mask.
