Norbert Dean Brown's Obituary
Norbert Dean Brown, age 73, of Elkville, IL, passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 12:38 p.m. in Marshall Browning Hospital, DuQuoin, IL. Norbert was born on November 20, 1939 in DuQuoin, IL, a son to Robert and Nina (Fisher) Brown. He was a member of Smith Memorial AME Zion Church, DuQuoin, IL and was a fork lift operator at MCA, Pinckneyville, IL retiring after 25 years. Norbert enjoyed attending church, cooking and was a talented piano player and singer. He was a friend to many and never met a stranger. Survivors include four brothers, Leonard (Kathy) Brown of Chicago, IL, Gerald B. (Wilma) Brown of Murphysboro, IL, Charles E. Brown of DuQuoin, IL and Johnny M. Brown of Royalton, IL; four sisters, Mary C. Clark of DuQuoin, IL, Alvenia Peters of DuQuoin, IL, Selevia (Richard A.) Myers of Carbondale, IL and Terry L. (Larry E.) Dunklin of DuQuoin, IL; several dear nieces; nephews; cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Ronald L. Brown; three sisters, Ruth L. Robinson, Rose M. Newcomb and Reda L. Smith; and one sister-in-law, Jodi Brown. Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, DuQuoin, IL on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Theresa Flagg officiating. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, DuQuoin, IL on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
