Natalie Ritter Rottet's Obituary
Natalie Ritter Rottet, 89 yrs., of Houston, TX. died Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at her home following a short terminal illness. Natalie was not only a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she was also a well known accomplished artist in the Southwest with clients that included boxer George Forman, Olympic Gymnast Mary Lou Retton, Congressman Wilbur Mills (Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee) plus corporate, hotel and convention center clients. Natalie was born April 11, 1928, in Pinckneyville, Illinois, the daughter of Leo and Hilda Ritter. She was a graduate of Pinckneyville High School and attended University of Illinois Champaign Urbana and studied art under famed portrait artist Gustaf Likan at the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts. Soon after met her future husband, Leo Joseph Rottet, son of Leo and Ina Rottet, when he returned from service in WWII. Natalie was the wife of Joe Rottet for 48 years. Joe preceded her in death in 1996. She is survived by one son, Timothy Joseph Rottet and wife Suzanne, and Lauren Rottet, mother of grandchildren Kyle Joseph Rottet and wife Katie, and Evan Leigh Rottet and one daughter Candice Rottet Powell and husband Danny of Fredericksburg, Texas, and their children Jason, Kristen and Jennifer and husband Mark Shepard and their children Grace and Peyton. Natalie is also survived by one sister, Leola Rushing and husband Maurice and their children Lana and Jeff, and one aunt Gertrude Faust Heil of Marissa, IL. She is also preceded in death by her parents, one sister, and one daughter in infancy, Terry Lee Rottet. Graveside services will be held on Monday, Sept. 25, 2017, at 12 noon in the Mueller Hill Cemetery in Pinckneyville, IL. with Reverend Sam Foskey officiating. Friends and family are asked to gather at the cemetery. Pyatt Funeral Home in Pinckneyville, IL. is in charge of arrangements.
