Myrtle M. Woodside's Obituary
Myrtle M. Woodside, age 84, of rural Pinckneyville, passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2007 at 6:30 p.m. in Crossroads Hospital, Mount Vernon, IL. Myrtle was born on December 28, 1922 in Rice, IL, a daughter to Robert and Phoebe (Porter) Magerkurth. On October 8, 1940, she married Lester Woodside in Perryville, MO and he preceded her in death on February 27, 1979. She later married Bruno Ryterski on July 13, 1985 and he preceded her in death on March 27, 1992. She was a member of the Concord Baptist Church, Rice, IL, where she attended services faithfully, was very active in missions, bible school, and sang in the choir, and she was also a member of the W.M.U. She worked for Habitat for Humanity and took her last trip at the age of 82. She loved to sing, and enjoyed music. Survivors include three sons: Donald and Linda Woodside, Larry and Phyllis Woodside, and Randy Woodside, all of Pinckneyville, two daughters: Judith Davis of Nashville and Debra and Kevin Heggemeier of Pinckneyville, one son-in-law: Max McKenzie, one brother: Richard and Emma Magerkurth of Pinckneyville, a special friend: C.E. Rackley of Pinckneyville, fifteen grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband: Lester Woodside, her second husband: Bruno Ryterski, one son: Russell Woodside, two daughters: Norma McKenzie and Sharon Sides, one son-in-law: David Davis, one great-great-granddaughter, five brothers and six sisters. Funeral services will be held at Concord Baptist Church, Rice, IL on Saturday, March 3, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Brother Tom Spiller officiating. Interment will be in Concord Baptist Cemetery. Friends may call at Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home, Pinckneyville on Friday from 6:00 p.m. till 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday at the funeral home from 8:00 a.m. till 9:00 a.m. then at the church from 9:30 a.m. till 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to Concord Baptist Church.
