Myrtle Mae Davis' Obituary
Myrtle Mae Davis, age 95, of Oakdale, IL, passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 5:36 a.m. in Friendship Manor Health Care Center, Nashville, IL. Myrtle was born on March 26, 1916 in Oakdale, IL, a daughter to James Ottis and Josephine (Stearns) Frye. She married Vernon Lamont Davis on October 30, 1935 in Pinckneyville, IL and he preceded her in death on July 30, 1986. Myrtle was a member of Oakdale Baptist Church, Oakdale, IL, dearly loved caring for her family and especially spending time with her grandchildren. Myrtle is survived by three sisters, Pearl (Thomas) Musielak and Evelene Musielak all of Oakdale, IL and LaVon Deihl of Washington Park, IL; grandchildren, Sherri (Kevin) Killegrew, Alice Davis, Danny (Denise) Spreitler, and Suzanne Davis; many beloved great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and numerous dear nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Orville Clinton Davis; three grandsons, David Spreitler, Carl Davis, and Clinton Davis; and two brothers-in-law, Edward Musielak and Allen Deihl. Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Oakdale, IL on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Fred Pringle officiating. Interment will be in Concord Baptist Cemetery, Rice, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Oakdale, IL on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to St. Judes Children's Hospital.
