Murray "Dink" Dean Bartlett's Obituary
Murray Dean "Dink" Bartlett, age 83, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at 12:45 p.m. in his home surrounded by his loving family Murray was born on September 13, 1933 in Marietta, IL, a son to Rosalie W. Bartlett Taylor. Dink was a coal miner working for Arch Coal. On December 12, 1956 he married Sandra K. (Stevenson) Bartlett in Cuba, IL. Murray retired from Arch Coal in 1995. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers. Murray belonged to the Masonic Lodge in Cuba, IL and also the Peoria Consistory. He was of the Protestant faith and loved fishing, square dancing, and traveling. Survivors include his wife; son, Steven (Carol) Bartlett of Chapmanville, WV; sister, Bonnie Schenck of Canton, IL, and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rosalie Taylor; infant daughter, Stephanie, his brother Kent Taylor, and his parents-in-law, Paul and Ruby Stevenson. Murray's wishes were to have family and friends gather for a graveside memorial service at Cuba Cemetery, Cuba, IL August 5, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Ardith Corsaw officiating. Masonic rites will be performed at the graveside services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Shriners Hospitals for Children or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
