Minor A. Craig, Sr.'s Obituary
Minor A. "Dusty" Craig, Sr., age 87, of Pinckneyville, IL, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at 3:05 a.m. in Herrin Hospital, Herrin, IL. Minor was born on March 29, 1921 in Winkle, IL, a son to Lorenzo "Ren" and Etta (Keller) Craig. He married Lola Denman on May 1, 1946 in Chester, IL and she survives. Minor was a member of Beaucoup Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL and a veteran of the United States Navy Air Corp serving as a fighter pilot during World War II as a Lieutenant in the Pacific Theater. Minor was a welder/tractor operator at Freeman United Coal Company, retiring at the age of 67 and a member of the UMWA. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, working in the yard, gardening and wood working. He especially loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife: Lola Craig of Pinckneyville, IL, two sons: Minor (Marilyn) Craig, Jr. of Coulterville, IL and Kenton (Kimberly) Craig of Swanwick, IL, one daughter: Marsha (Rick) Kuhnert of Pinckneyville, IL, eight grandchildren: Derek (Aarah) Craig, Dustin (Joy) Craig, David Craig, Emily (Peter) Prikazsky, Ashley Craig, Craig Kuhnert, Levi Craig and Carrie Craig and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter: Vonda Craig, one granddaughter: Sharon Craig, one brother: Milton Craig and one sister: Lorraine Bigham. Funeral services will be held at Beaucoup Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Friday, December 12, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Mark Lee officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL. Friends may call at Beaucoup Baptist Church on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to Beaucoup Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL. Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL is in charge of the arrangements.
